Casia Ellen

Cássia Rejane Eller (December 10, 1962 – December 29, 2001) was a Brazilian musician. She performed a fusion of rock and MPB. She was rated as the 18th greatest vocalist and 40th greatest Brazilian musician by Rolling Stone Brasil.

She played the songs of Brazilian rock composers such as Cazuza, Renato Russo and Rita Lee, as well as artists such as Marisa Monte, Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque, as well as pop Nando Reis, rap of Xis and the unusual of Arrigo Barnabé and Wally Solomon, to Riachão sambas and international rocks of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, John Lennon and Nirvana. It had a very important musical trajectory, although short, with something around ten own albums recorded in the course of twelve years of career. In fact, it was only in 1989 that his career took off. Helped by her uncle, she recorded a demo tape with the song "For Now", by Renato Russo. This same uncle took the tape to PolyGram, which resulted in Cássia being hired by the label. Its first participation in disc was in 1990, in the LP of Wagner Tiso titled "Baobab". Cássia Eller always had a very intense stage presence, took a preference for albums recorded live and she was constantly invited to special participation and interpretations to order, singular, personalized.
