Onika Tanya Maraj, better known by her stage name Nicki Minaj is a talented vocalist and has also established herself as a television host, and icon of female empowerment. Her unique voice (which often makes use of various accents) and vigorous, fast-flow rap style have made her popular. In less than ten years, she has gone from social media hopeful to successful multi-media mogul. With no signs of slowing down, Nicki Minaj continues to wow audiences with her chart-topping numbers.

Minaj began her musical career rapping in a foursome called 'The Hoodstars.' She left the group and uploaded her work to her Myspace profile page which led to Fendi, CEO of 'Dirty Money Entertainment', signing her for a 180-day contract in 2007. She released her first mixtape, 'Playtime is Over' on July 5, 2007. Minaj signed a contract with Lil Wayne's record label 'Young Money Entertainment' in 2009 and released her debut album 'Massive Attack' in 2010. The album featured the hit song 'Your Love,' which reached number 14 on Billboard's Hot 100. In March 2017, Minaj broke the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries for a female artist. She announced her fourth album, 'Queen,' which was scheduled to be released in 2018. The album debuted at number two on the 'US Billboard 200,' at number five in the UK, and at number four in Australia. Minaj has given numerous chart-topping numbers. 'I Get Crazy' from the 2008 album 'Beam Me Up Scotty' hit number 20 on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs.
