John Legend had been living in the background for many years before beginning his multi-pronged sneak assault on the entertainment industry. Shortly after his first break, playing the piano on Lauryn Hill's Top 40 hit 'Everything Is Everything' (1999), the singer and songwriter contributed to recordings by Jay-Z and Janet Jackson. As a musician, actor, and producer, he excelled in the pursuit of screen and stage. His triumphs include the Oscar-winning 'Glory' the Emmy-winning Jesus Christ Superstar Live Concert, and the Tony-winning production of Jitney. He is one of the first 15 entertainers and the first African-American to have won all four major show-business awards.

John Legend came up with debut album 'Get Lifted' in 2004, also collaborating with various worldwide-known artists such as Kanye West and Alicia Keys. Signing with Kanye West's record label, John Legend shot up to fame with single 'All of Me' and reached the top Billboard Hot 100 in 2014. His first-holiday album, the Raphael Saadiq-produced A Legendary Christmas, followed in October 2018 and picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. In June 2020, shortly after he completed his third season as a coach on The Voice, Legend issued Bigger Love, a feel-good set with Charlie Puth, Anderson. Paak, and Rapsody among his first-time collaborators.
