Andrew Hozier-Byrne, better known as Hozier, is an Irish singer and songwriter best known for his single 'Take Me to Church.' In 2014, the County Wicklow boy released his first studio album, which became an instant success and quickly earned him fame on the international blues scene. His style of music is not only limited to blues but is also highly influenced by the types of rock and R&B. The title song from his first extended play 'Take Me to Church' made a distinctive appearance on all the country's leading charts by either taking the first or second positions.
Hozier was born to a local blues musician. He studied music at Trinity College in Dublin. In 2013, Hozier released his first Extended Play titled 'Take Me to Church' which became a huge success worldwide. The title track also went viral on the internet and has over 210 million views on YouTube as of today. He won a Grammy nomination for the song in 2015 and has been nominated for two Grammys. Hozier released his second EP, titled 'From Eden,' in March 2014. The title song from the EP peaked at no. 2 in Ireland and reached no. 69 in the UK. In the same year, he released his self-titled debut studio album. The album received platinum certification in Ireland, Canada, Australia, the UK, the US, and New Zealand. Hozier won a European Border Breakers Award in 2015 for his debut album.
