Harshdeep Kaur, also popularly known as ‘Sufi ki Sultana’ is an Indian singer known for her Bollywood Hindi, Punjabi, and Sufi songs. Born in Delhi in a Punjabi family, her father owns a factory of musical instruments. Kaur’s tryst with music began early in life as she started learning music at the age of six, joined the Delhi School of Music at 12, and released her first Bollywood track, ‘Sajna Main Haari’ when she was only 16. She’s since worked with the likes of A. R. Rahman, Pritam, Vishal-Shekhar, and Amit Trivedi among many others, and has gone on to establish her place in the Bollywood music industry. After establishing her place in Bollywood, Kaur went on to win the singing reality show ‘Junoon- Kuch Kar Dikhaane Ka’ with Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as her mentor. She’s delivered some notable hits like ‘Katiya Karun’ from Rockstar, ‘Heer’ from Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Kabira from ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani to name a few. Kaur is also one of the few singers from India to have sung for a Hollywood film. Her track ‘R.I.P’ was featured in Oscar-winner Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours’ in 2011. Kaur has been unstoppable and has gone on to headline in festivals and tours in India and abroad. She’s won multiple awards for her songs and won the IIFA award for ‘Dilbaro’ from Raazi in 2019.
