Frasqueri confirms that Princess Nokia is an alter personality she created with the track ‘Nokia.’ On May 12, 2014 she launched an album entitled Metallic Butterfly, and debuted on Vice and Soundcloud. She released her debut studio album, Deluxe 1992, on September 8, 2017, which was an extended version of her 2016 mixtape, 1992. On Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart it peaked at number 25. NME had also listed it as the 32nd best 2017 album. Also on 18 February 2018 Nokia debuted a new radio show on Apple's Beats 1 Radio. She has six episodes in total labeled 'The Voices in My Head with Princess Nokia.'
