Princess Nokia is one of the fiercest rappers in the game today. Nokia is an alter ego of Destiny Nicole Frasqueri, which she introduced with the track ‘Nokia.’ At the heart of her brash, alluring lyrics is a spirituality that comes with being at one with herself and her Puerto Rican roots. She never graduated high school, turned down five record deals, and grew up without her mother. Nokia is undeterred in her mission to empower women of all walks. Frasqueri confirms that Princess Nokia is an alter personality she created with the track ‘Nokia.’ On May 12, 2014 she launched an album entitled Metallic Butterfly, and debuted on Vice and Soundcloud. She released her debut studio album, Deluxe 1992, on September 8, 2017, which was an extended version of her 2016 mixtape, 1992. On Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart it peaked at number 25. NME had also listed it as the 32nd best 2017 album. Also on 18 February 2018 Nokia debuted a new radio show on Apple's Beats 1 Radio. She has six episodes in total labeled 'The Voices in My Head with Princess Nokia.'
