Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and producer Richard Marx made his name as a contemporary pop/rock sensation in the late 1980s and early 1990s, releasing a series of successive platinum albums. A gifted balladeer who could also rock, Marx, shot to the top of the pop charts with the singles 'Should've Known Better' and 'Right Here Waiting.' Since debuting in 1987 with his eponymous first outing, Marx has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Richard Noel Marx had a stream of hit singles in the late 1980s and 1990s, including 'Endless Summer Nights', 'Right Here Waiting', 'Now and Forever', murder ballad 'Hazard', and 'At the Beginning' with Donna Lewis. Although some of his major hit songs were love songs, many of his songs have had a classic rock style. Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Marx has also written or collaborated on songs with other artists such as 'This I Promise You' by NSYNC and 'Dance with My Father' by Luther Vandross. Since then he has continued to record, collaborate, act, produce, and perform, issuing his 12th album, Limitless, in 2020.
