Legendary American ballad singer, Lionel Richie, is one of the most influential and notable balladers of 1980s.

Starting in 1968, Lionel Richie did not start his career solo, but with a group called the Commodores. He himself started his solo career in 1982 with self-titled album. Ever since, he has started living a succesful life as a singer, making his name up to the Grammy field.
