Born as Symere Woods, Lil Uzi’s venture into rapping began when he was in high school. He originally gained recognition after releasing his debut single "Money Longer", and several mixtapes including "Luv Is Rage", "Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World", and "The Perfect Luv Tape".

Lil climbed into the mainstream with the single "Money Longer", which debuted at number 92 on the Billboard Hot 100. Vert was given his first Billboard number one single with a feature on Migos' single "Bad and Boujee".
