Jorge Ben was on the beach playing a ball when he noticed a beautiful girl entering the sea water. It began to rain and he observed the beauty of that woman enjoying the sea, even with the rain falling. This simple situation was what inspired the master to compose this classic, 61 years ago (can you believe this song is so old?)
Classic! One of the anthems of Brazil, just like that. Jorge Ben, aged twenty-something, shows the world his first album, Samba Esquema Novo, and that name is precisely because it was a different samba, never seen before. A way of playing guitar that only he knew. Meirelles and the Copa 5 is the band that accompanies Dom Um Romão on drums. But, What Nothing! it has several references to candomblé and this name is because Jorge had a friend who always spoke this staff "but, that nothing!."
