Kevin Gates

Kevin Jerome Gilyard, popularly known as Kevin Gates, is an American rapper, singer and entrepreneur. Famous for his successful hit studio album 'Islah,' released in 2016, he is also known for his mixtapes, such as 'Stranger than Fiction' and 'By Any Means.' Having released many hit singles and mixtapes during his career, he can be considered one of America's most famous contemporary singers. Gates, who started his career in 2005 after signing Dead Game Records, a local label, became famous in the late 2000s, along with the rappers Webster Gradney and Torrence Hatch. Gates is mainly known for his autobiographical themes in his songs. After the release of 'Islah,' he became very successful with his debut studio album. Well-known artists such as Eminem and Jay-Z have been described as his influences.

Gates started his career in 2007 by signing with Dead Game Records on the local label. At the beginning of 2013, Gates released the mixtape, The Luca Brasi Story, through the label Bread Winners' Association. In 2015, Gates released another mixtape, Murder for Hire, which was said to be the third in the Luca Brasi collection. In 2015, he released the song 'Kno One,' which would become the first single on his debut studio album, Islah. Gates released the three-song EP Chained to the City in 2018. Gates released his second EP on 2019, entitled 'Only Generals Gon Understand.' Gates launched 'Push It ' in 2019, along with a music video.
