Foals were formed in Oxford, England, in the late 2000s. The first album, 2008's Antidotes, reached number three in their native U.K. Over the next decade, they developed a distinctive balance between jittery dance rock and spacy atmosphere. 2013's Holy Fire marked their American chart debut. They are influenced by catchy new wave, math rock, and atmospheric post-rock. They have released four albums since 2008, including 'Holy Fire' in 2013. Their last album, 2014's 'No Escape,' was their first full-length album to reach No. 1 in the U.S., and their first single 'Try This on Your Piano' went No. 2.
Foals have released three albums since 2007. Their third album, Holy Fire, was their first to chart outside of Western Europe. The quintet formed in London in 2004 & went on tour with Everything Everything. The band confirmed in 2013 that founding member Gervers had left the group on amicable terms. The group played shows in Europe and the U.K. They released their fifth and sixth studio LPs in 2019.
