Jet found international success in the early 2000s, a time when the band's combination of Exile on Main St. swagger and brash, AC / DC-styled stomp combined beautifully with American garage rock revival. Hailing from Melbourne and consisting of guitarist Cameron Muncey, drummer Chris Cester, bassist Mark Wilson and frontman Nic Cester, this foursome formed just as the new millennium had begun.
Jet's self-released 2002 Dirty Sweet EP proved to be very successful in Australia. Their acclaim rose in the U.K as they released another limited edition series. An American deal with Elektra surfaced at the beginning of 2003, and the Dirty Sweet EP released domestically. With buzz brewing about the skuzzy, old-fashioned hard rock band, Jet's studio debut came the same year under the title Get Born. Following a short break, Jet reconvened in 2008 to begin work on a third album, which arrived one year later as Shaka Rock. They went on hiatus in 2010 and entirely disbanded in 2012. Jet was back in business after several years, however, playing headlining shows in Australia during early 2017.
