Bio

Daniel Hernandez, known professionally as 6ix9ine or Tekashi is an American rapper. Hernandez first decided to take up rap in 2012 after meeting Peter "Righteous P" Rodgers, CEO of New York record label Hikari-Ultra, when they met at bodega Hernandez was working at in Brooklyn. Post that, he began releasing rap songs in 2014, starting with ‘69’ in August 2014, ‘Pimpin’, in September 2014, and both ‘Who The Fuck is You’ and ‘4769’ in October 2014. The latter was his first collaboration as a lead artist featuring two rappers from the Brooklyn collective Pro Era, J.A.B. and Dirty Sanchez. Hernandez rose to mainstream fame in late 2017 with the release of his debut single ‘Gummo’, which was certified platinum by the RIAA. In early 2018, after releasing his successful debut mixtape, ‘Day69’, he earned his first top-five entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with the song, ‘Fefe’. In 2019, Hernandez signed a two-album contract for over $10 million with his label 10K Projects for one album in English and one album in Spanish. Hernandez is known for his distinctive rainbow-themed look, tattoos, aggressive style of rapping, and controversial public persona.
