Karthik is an Indian playback singer who began his professional career as a backup vocalist and has worked as a playback singer since. He has sung in many languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Hindi and others. Karthik was awarded with the Amrita Film Awards for his versatility in the industry that gave him the opportunity to sing a variety of songs.
Karthik is a trained Carnatic music vocalist. 'Ennaku Oru Girlfriend' from Tamil film Boys was one of the biggest hits of the year in 2005. His other popular songs include 'Ava Enna' and 'Nendhukittaen.' Karthik has also sung for A. R. Rahman who he is a big fan of, Ilaiyaraaja, Hamsalekha, Vidyasagar, Devi Sri Prasad, Harris Jeyaraj and Manisharma. He was part of a college band and regularly participated in IIT Madras Fest Saarang . In 2010, Karthik sang a track 'Behene De', from Hindi film Raavan, which is widely considered as the biggest song in his career. Karthik received wide appreciations for the theme song of 10th World Tamil Conference by Composer Rajan Somasundaram.
