K.J. Yesudas

Kattassery Joseph Yesudas is an Indian playback singer and musician who sings classical, devotional and cinematic Indian songs. Yesudas has released more than 80,000 songs in a variety of Indian languages as well as Arabic, English, Latin, and Russian.

Yesudas recorded his first popular song Jaathi Bhedam Matha Dwesham in 1961. He got the first major break with the hit Malayalam film named Bharya. After a decade of singing in South Indian movies, he got a break in Bollywood in the early 1970s. The first Hindi song he sang was for the movie Jai Jawan Jai Kissan.
