The sertaneja duo Maiara & Maraisa has its roots in the city of São José dos Quatro Marcos, in Mato Grosso. The twin sisters, whose baptismal names are Maiara Carla Henrique Pereira and Carla Maraisa Henrique Pereira, were born on December 31, 1987 and from an early age they already showed great interest in music. Daughters of Marco and Almira Henrique, they grew up in an environment where music has always been present, thanks to their father's work as a musical engineer.
They started their careers in their teens in the state of Mato Grosso, singing at local festivals and playing small shows. Over time, the duo gained notoriety in the country scene, initially known as "Geminis." The big leap in their career came with the release of the song 'No Dia do Seu Casamento', which became a hit in 2013.
