Rekha Bhardwaj is a popular Indian singer and live performer. Born and brought up in Delhi, Bhardwaj initially received training in music from her older sister and went on to later receive formal training under Pandit Amarnath. Bhardwaj released her debut album titled 'Ishqa Ishqa' in 2002. The success of this album got her recognition and helped her bag her career-defining songs namely, ‘Namak Ishq Ka’ from the 2006 film Omkara, followed by ‘Sasural Genda Phool’ for the film Delhi-6 in 2009. She has also received two Filmfare awards and one National award for her contribution to the Bollywood music industry. In addition to Hindi, Bhardwaj has also sung in Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, and Malayalam languages.
