The song quickly resonated with the masses, debuting at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 a week after its release, and reaching No. 12 on this week's chart ( 29). It also remains at No. 2 on Hot Latin Songs.

When Yng Lvcas created the original version of "La bebe" in 2021, it was intended as a reggaeton "fill" for a corridos album. Although the song, which now enjoys great popularity, was not included in his debut Wup? Mixtape1 released in September of the same year, served as an introduction to its sequel, the more reggaetonero LPM (or La Perreo Mixtape), three months later.
