Itsumo Shiotaiou Na Osananajimi Dakedo
Yoasobi (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese music duo, composing of Vocaloid (voice synthesizer software) producer and songwriter Ayase, and singer-songwriter Lilas Ikuta, performing under the stage name Ikura. Formed and debuted in 2019 under Sony Music Entertainment Japan, the duo has released songs based on short stories posted on Monogatary.com, a website operated by their label, later also from various media like novels written by professional authors, books, and letters. The duo uses the slogan "novel into music" (小説を音楽にする, shōsetsu o ongaku ni suru) to represent themselves. Yoasobi's debut single, "Yoru ni Kakeru", became successful on several music charts in Japan and gave them their breakthrough with charting atop the Billboard Japan Hot 100 both weekly chart for six non-consecutive weeks and 2020 year-end chart, and becoming the first song to be certified diamond for streaming by Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). It was followed by successful singles including "Gunjō", and "Kaibutsu". Their first two extended plays (EPs), The Book and The Book 2 (2021), both debuted at number two on the Oricon Albums Chart. The duo earned several accolades, including two MTV Video Music Awards Japan, a Japan Record Award, and a Japan Gold Disc Award, etc.
