Hooverphonic Presents Jackie Cane/The Magnificent Tree

Hooverphonic is a Belgian ambient pop group, known for their moody, playful take on trip-hop during the mid-'90s. The band's sound has evolved dramatically over the years, incorporating psychedelic, pop, and orchestral elements.

In 1995, Hooverphonic was formed by guitarist/programmer Alex Callier, keyboardist Frank Duchêne and guitarist Raymond Geerts. They contributed the song '2Wicky' to the soundtrack for Bernardo Bertolucci's 1996 film Stealing Beauty. Their first record, A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular, was a trippy album full of breakbeats and samples. In 2007, shortly after the release of the president of the LSD Golf Club, vocalist Geike Arnaert left the band to pursue a solo career. The Magnificent Tree, their second album in 2000, was their most unrestricted album and was number two on the Belgian charts. Their third album, The Night Before, was released in 2010. In 2012, the group released Hooverphonic with Orchestra, which included newly assembled recordings of previous hits. The band returned with the Europop-leaning In Wonderland in 2016.
