As a singer, three studio albums have been released by her till date. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2008. Debuting at number two on the 'Billboard 200,' it became a huge hit.

Selling 217,000 copies within the first week itself, it earned her several awards, such as the 'NAACP Image Award' for 'Outstanding New Artist.' In 2014, she released her third album 'JHUD' for which she had worked with several songwriters and producers. It debuted at No. 2 on the 'US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums' chart. Hudson debuted in 'The Voice' as a coach in the sixth season of 'The Voice UK' in 2017 & 2018.
