Purpla

Purpla is a Brit/Alt-rock band based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The members are Danar Astohari (vocals), Dewandra Danishwara (guitar), Bayu Malindo (bass) and Dioma (drums). Purpla brings the topic from urban city life, love story, to life perspective from football supporters. Started when Danishwara (guitar) who just finished his study in Manchester, UK and arrived home in Jakarta, he wanted to start a band with his long-time friend Dioma (drums). Started jamming to Britpop/Alt-rock tunes from The Stone Roses, Blur, to The Strokes, they asked Bayu (bass) who is no other than Dioma’s younger brother to join the band. Later on, their long-time friend Danar (vocals) filled in the frontman position. From their first workshop, its only natural for them to talk about football as they are all huge fans of football. In 2016, Purpla was chosen as the name of the band where they have a big dream to be featured as a soundtrack of FIFA game franchise.
