Bio

George Miller, better known by his stage name Joji, is a Japanese-born artist who has grown favoured by posting unconventional content on his social media channels. Joji released his first full-length album in 2017. ‘Gimme Love’ is a two-part song that begins at a feverish but steady pace before drifting off to a dreamy place at its midway point. He is a curious creator, fluent in multiple media.

Life & Career

Miller's start as an entertainer began on his now-defunct YouTube channels, DizastaMusic and subsequently TVFilthyFrank, which consisted of rap songs, rants, extreme challenges, ukulele performances and a bizarre show, with most of Miller's main characters including Filthy Frank's titular character. Miller's videos had widespread influence like starting the Harlem Shake viral dance craze. He also released the EP In Tongues, which debuted at number 58 on the Billboard 200 and his debut studio album Ballads 1, which hit number 1 on the overall R&B and hip-hop list of Billboards in November 2018, after retiring his internet personality. Joji performed 'Run' on The Tonight Show, his highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 and Nectar's first single. After a breakup, a percussive dwell in fresh solitude, 'Run' features some of Joji's most intense vocals — he's flexing his falsetto over driving guitar and drums that would fill an arena. As in the 'Gimme Love' video, the 'Run' visual illustrates the desire for escape, as Joji scrambles to exit a seemingly endless limousine. He is kept moving by the promise of something else.
