Bio

Sunitha Upadrasta was born in a musical household. Her parents, Upadrasta Narasimha Rao and Sumathi, are well known to the music lovers of Vijayawada and Guntur. She started her training in Carnatic Vocal and Light Music at the age of 6. Upadrasta has participated and performed in a variety of concerts, including well-known programmes featuring All India Radio as a girl, and has won multiple awards and appreciations for her success as a child prodigy. One of the highlights is her scholarship from the Central Government to pursue her musical training.

Life & Career

Sunitha Upadrasta began her singing career as a playback singer in films at the age of 17. Her debut film being Gulabi and debut song 'Ee Vela Lo Neevu; in 1995. She received her first Nandi Award from the state of Andhra Pradesh for singing the title song of Antha Rangalu in 1999. She achieved a very rare feat as a voice-over artist in Telugu film industry with a record-breaking contribution of lending voice to 110+ actresses spread across 750+ films. Upadrasta has also anchored, hosted and performed as a singer in several music-based programs and live shows in many reputed Telugu TV channels. Upadrasta has rendered nearly 3000 songs in numerous south Indian films. She has sung in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. Her recent piece in the year 2020 'Neeli Neeli akaasam' from the movie '30 rojullo preminchadamela' touched a whopping 100M digital views.
