Bio

“Just Keep Going” This is the mantra that Nigeria-born and Chicago-raised rapper/producer tobi lou lives by. The former two-sport athlete excelled on both the gridiron and the baseball diamond, but after suffering an injury that derailed his Major League dreams at the semi-pro level, Lou found refuge in his first love…music. Growing up in the Windy City, Lou was a disciple of homegrown hip-hop acts such as Common and Lupe Fiasco, but it was Kanye West, who not only inspired Lou musically, but also showed him the benefits of realizing your individuality as an artist. That influence took Lou to Los Angeles, where he would write and produce songs for other artists, while moonlighting as an Uber driver. Eventually, Lou stepped out in the forefront as an artist and his first offering was a song called “Game Ova”. The video was directed by music visionary Joshua “Glassface” Goldenberg and was shot in the same Los Angeles arcade as Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Night” video. After 2018, Lou released three critically acclaimed EP’s: tobi lou and The Moon, tobi lou and The Loop and tobi lou and The Juice. Later that same year, Lou joined rapper Super Duper Kyle on his “Lightspeed” nationwide tour. In 2019, the South Side native released his much-anticipated mixtape entitled "Live on Ice”. Lou also just wrapped a sold out, 24 city North America tour and will begin the European leg in Spring of 2020.
