Bio

Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as SRK, is also referred to as 'Baadshah of Bollywood,' 'King of Bollywood' and 'King Khan.' Khan has a strong reputation in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In his youth, he appeared in stage plays and won acclaim for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of whom Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mumtaz were his favourites. He frequently features on the list of the most influential people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one of the fifty most influential people in the world.

Life & Career

Khan's first starring appearance was in Lekh Tandon's Dil Dariya television series in 1988. In 1991, he moved from Delhi to Mumbai to try a full-time career in Bollywood, and he quickly signed four films. His film debut was in Deewana, which was released in 1992. Khan was most appreciative of playing villain roles in two box office hits: a killer in Baazigar and an obsessed lover in Darr. He became a producer in 1999 and set up a company named Dreamz Unlimited. 2004 was a critical and commercially successful year for Khan. He converted Dreamz Unlimited into Red Chillies Entertainment, adding his wife Gauri as a director. His latest movie to hit the theatres was Zero in 2018. Khan is also a regular stage performer and has performed in a variety of world tours and concerts.
