Bio

The Geto Boys were an American hip hop band. The group was founded in 1986 in Houston, Texas. They frequently gained attention for their controversial songs addressing controversial subjects such as misogyny, gore, psychotic experiences, and necrophilia. Their classical lineup consisted of Bushwick Bill, Scarface and Willie D.

Life & Career

The first single the group released was 'Car Freak' in 1986, which then followed with two LPs 'You Ain't Nothin'/I Run This' in 1987 and 'Be Down' in 1988. In 1988, the group released its debut album, Making Trouble. Till Death Do Us Part was certified gold in 1993. After years on hiatus, the group reunited in 2002 to record its seventh album, The Foundation, which was released in 2005. Although the band rarely released albums or performed together, the group came together for a reunion at Cypress Hill's SmokeOut festival in San Bernardino, California in 2009. The band ceased to exist in 2016.
