Bio

Hindi Zahra is a gift Moroccan singer and actress. Her songs are mostly in English but some lyrics are in Amazigh. Influenced by singers like Cheikha Rimitti, Hindi Zahra has drawn comparisons with Beth Gibbons of Portishead, Manu Chao, Billie Holiday, Patti Smith.

Life & Career

Her name means both 'flower' and 'chance'. Hindi Zahra became a chorus member first in hip-hop and then on the Paris alternative scene. In 2005, she wrote Oursoul (translated as 'Our spirit' or 'Never again').This song triggered a long list of pieces, including Beautiful Tango, which went all over the Internet. The final result was a tasteful blend of folk, soul, blues and jazz with a few oriental and Gypsy accents.
