Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Jeremiah is an Indian actress, songwriter and singer. She works primarily in the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Jeremiah also appeared in Telugu movies. When she was eight, Jeremiah studied classical piano. At the age of 10, Jeremiah was part of a Jackson Five-style band named Young Stars, which formed the basis of her early career as a singer and music composer. She was also a theatre artist at her college, participating in a variety of stage plays organised by The Madras Players and EVAM.

Jeremiah started her career in theatre with Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she starred in a new Leo coffee commercial with a Shiva actor. She also worked in a series that relayed the Podhigai channel. She signed with Selvaraghavan's fantasy-adventure film Aayirathil Oruvan, released in early 2010. Jeremiah said that her attention was always on music, that she chose to be a professional singer, and that acting happened by accident. She ventured into playback singing in feature films in 2005. She finds the song 'Maalai Neram' to be the most challenging song she has ever performed.
