Emraan Hashmi

Syed Emraan Anwar Hashmi is an Indian film actor known for his work in the Bollywood film industry. Hashmi has been known to portray some really strong roles in films and is also known to be one of the most unconventional actors of India. Hashmi made his acting debut in 2003 with Vikram Bhatt’s thriller film, Footpath. He went on to deliver back to back hits like Murder, Kalyug, Aksar, The Train, and Jannat. Hashmi received critical acclaim for his performance in his 2008 film, Jannat, which also went on to be a commercial success in India. Jannat was also a turning point in Hashmi’s career and he subsequently gained recognition for portraying a range of unconventional characters in films like the horror flick, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, the biographical drama, The Dirty Picture, the psychological thriller Murder 2, the romantic comedy Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, all of which earned him critical appreciation. Hashmi has received several award nominations for his performances throughout his expansive career including three Filmfare Awards and IIFA Awards nominations including others.
