Bio

Rupinder Singh Grewal, popularly known as Gippy Grewal is an Indian actor, singer, director, and producer known for his work in the Punjabi and Hindi film industry. Born in Ludhiana, before he shot to fame, Grewal performed at weddings in Punjab. Grewal made his musical debut in 2002 with Aman Hayer with his album ‘Chakkh Lai’ and made his acting debut with ‘Mel Karade Rabba’ in 2010. Grewal came to be known in Bollywood when his track ‘Angreji Beat’ was featured in the 2012 flick, Cocktail. Following his debut as a singer, Grewal has released multiple hit Punjabi albums and singles like ‘Aaja Wey Mitra’, ‘Melle Mittaran De’, and ‘Phulkari’, which is an acclaimed Punjabi hit. His career in the Punjabi film industry has been quite successful too. In 2012, he appeared in ‘Carry on Jatta’ which had the second-highest opening for a Punjabi film. Grewal also dubbed a voice in the Punjabi version of ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ which was the first Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Punjabi.
