Hiphop Tamizha

Hiphop Tamizha is an Indian musical duo based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The team consists of Adhithya 'Adhi' Venkatapathy and R. Jeeva. While the pair have initially been independent musicians since 2013, they have contributed primarily to composing for films. Hiphop Tamizha is credited with being the pioneers of Tamil hip hop in India.

The group remained underground until the mainstream success of 'Club le Mabbu le' in 2011. After hearing the album, the multinational label Remy Martin launched Hiphop Tamizha as an official brand. In 2012, Hiphop Tamizha released their debut album Hip Hop Tamizhan, India's first Tamil hip hop album. It was a big success for both the general public and the critics. Although the pair were mainly independent musicians, they have also contributed to various works beyond independent music, such as writing and performing film music. They've even launched a brand of clothing.
