Bio

New Orleans-based indie-pop outfit Generationals craft hook-filled tunes that borrow liberally from the 50s, 60s, and 70s of rock and pop, while retaining contemporary sensibility. Emerging in the late 2000s, the band built on their former popularity as members of the Eames Era, releasing albums such as 2011's Actor-Caster and 2014's Alix.

Life & Career

Generationals were formed in 2007 by guitarists/songwriters Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer. They have released four albums on Park the Van, and two on Polyvinyl. The band's debut, Con Law, arrived in 2009. They returned in 2011 with the equally sugary-sweet sophomore effort Actor-Caster. In 2018, they issued the compilation set State Dogs: Singles 2017-2018, which showcased songs recorded and released individually over a year. The duo returned in 2019 with their sixth studio album, Reader as Detective, featuring the single 'I Turned My Back on the Written Word.'
