Bio

Kim Tae-yeon, known as Taeyeon, is a South Korean singer. She has been a member of SM Entertainment's girl group Girls' Generation since 2007.

Life & Career

Kim Tae-yeon, most often credited only as Taeyeon, debuted in 2007 as a member of South Korean girl group Girls' Generation under S.M. Entertainment, and has further participated in its subgroup Girls' Generation-TTS as well as S.M Entertainment's ballad group S.M. the Ballad. Taeyeon officially made her debut as a solo artist in October 2015. Taeyeon has been widely regarded as a "talented vocalist" for her soulful vocals. She first contributed her vocals to "7989" (featuring Kangta), a track taken from both Girls' Generation's eponymous debut album (2007) and Kangta's fourth studio album, Eternity (2008). After that, Taeyeon gained popularity through her various television soundtracks, recording "If" for the KBS2 drama Hong Gil Dong (2008) and "Can You Hear Me" for MBC's drama Beethoven Virus (2009). Both tracks remain among Taeyeon's most well-known hits.
