Kodaline is a Rock band from Ireland. Originally named as 21 Demands, the collective adopted its current name in 2012. The group comprises Steve Garrigan, Vincent May, Mark Prendergast and Jason Boland. Garrigan and Prendergast grew up in Swords, Dublin and knew each other since childhood. The group have released three studio albums, In a Perfect World (2013), Coming Up for Air (2015), with the third, Politics of Living, released in 2018.
The band first came to attention in 2006, when they appeared on the fifth series of RTÉ talent show You're a Star in 2006. They released their own single 'Give Me a Minute' through digital7 downloads on the RTÉ website in 2007. The single topped the Irish Singles Chart. The quartet released its debut extended play — The Kodaline EP, produced by Philip Magee in 2012. 'All I Want' was selected as the BBC Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton's Record of the Week, featured in Grey's Anatomy's season 9 episode, 'Remember the Time' and used in Google's 2012 background music: Year in Review video. Kodaline released their first studio record, In a Perfect World, in 2013. In 2014, the band announced their second LP Coming Up for Air which entered the UK Albums Chart at number 4. The band also released a single, 'Follow Your Fire', on 23 March 2018.
