Martinho José Ferreira, better known by Martinho da Vila, (Duas Barras, February 12, 1938) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, writer and musician.
Life & Career
Although internationally known as a samba artist, with several compositions recorded abroad, Martinho da Vila is a legitimate representative of MPB and eclectic composer, having worked with aspects of Brazilian culture and created songs of the most varied Brazilian rhythms, such as ciranda, frevo, samba de roda, capoeira, bossa nova, calango, samba-enredo, toada and sambas Africanos.
