Bio

Michael Kiwanuka debuted to acclaim with his acoustic sound and timelessly soulful voice that fused folk, indie rock, and R&B with styles borrowed from his Ugandan heritage. Kiwanuka won a Mercury Prize nomination for his debut album, Home Again, and the 2012 BBC's Sound. His debut release, Love & Hate in 2016, which went platinum, finishing at number one in the UK, further cemented his image as a talented, rootsy artist. Kiwanuka has also studied jazz at the Royal Academy of Music and pop music at Westminster University.
