DJ Shadow

DJ Shadow is a leading figure in sampling art, with a collection of over 60,000 records on personal tracks. His late solo work for the UK independent Mo 'Wax label culminated in ‘Endtroducing .....,’ a hip-hop phenomenon that merged obscure recordings covering jazz, funk, punk, trance, psychedelia and other genres to filmic effect.

A rare hip-hop lover in the Early 80s suburbia, DJ Shadow gravitated to the hip-hop DJ's turntable/mixer rig over his contemporaries' amps, vocals, and drums. In the early years of hip-hop & Rakim, Ultramagnetic MC's, and Public Enemy, he made his way through the heyday of crews like Eric B, groups who had DJs in their ranks. DJ Shadow launched his new Liquid Amber label with The Liquid Amber EP in 2014, then launched the Nite School Klik EP in 2015, the latter being a self-titled debut from his collaboration with producer G Jones. His solo release in 2016, The Mountain Will Fall, was picked up by the label Mass Appeal, an album featuring guests Nils Frahm and Run the Jewels. Shadow returned to a criticism of society with the Our Pathetic Age. With a 40-minute instrumental sort set, a collection of vocal tracks including the label's biggest crowd of collaborators including De La Soul, Eminem, and Ghostface Killah as well as Run the Jewels.
