Bio

La Roux is an electro / pop duo from Britain. They rose to fame in 2009, when they were chosen as part of the annual BBC 'Sound of.' poll. The general election was won by the female pop star Little Boots. La Roux is composed of Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid, citing Heaven 17, Yazoo and The Human League as influences.

Life & Career

The first project of La Roux, named Automan, was mainly acoustic. 'Quicksand' was produced by Kitsune Music, the first single of La Roux. The group was then signed with Polydor Records. 'In For The Kill' was the second single from La Roux. The remix of the single was also quite successful, released in 2009. Polydor then released 'Bulletproof' under the album named La Roux. La Roux was chosen in 2009 as Lily Allen 's main tour support. The NME Radar Tour with the support of Magistrates, Heartbreak and The Chapman Family was also headlined. The album La Roux was also nominated for the 2009 Mercury Music Prize.
