Mario Mims, popularly known as Yo Gotti, is one of the many hard-core rappers from the Southern hip-hop school of the 1990s. Yo Gotti's raping style has been inspired by both the Southern and Southern hip-hop schools of music, but he favours and is part of the Gangsta style. He is respected and known for his skills in raping around the world and is currently the underground rap king of Memphis Town and the brightest hip-hop star. Inspired by rap icons like Three Six Mafia, 8 Ball & MJG, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Al Kapone, Gangsta Blackhe and Lil Yo, he chose the musical path. He released several famous albums like 'From da Dope Game 2 da Rap Game,' 'Self Explanatory,' 'Life,' 'I Am,' etc. The lyrics of his songs also depict the dangers of hooded life and are often sexually explicit.
Yo Gotti began his music career around the age of 14, rapping with Lil Yo, affiliated with DJ Sound and his crew. In 1996, Gotti released his debut album Youngsta's On a Come Up under the alias Lil Yo. Yo Gotti's album I Still Am, which was released in 2017, entered the Top Ten on the Billboard 200, R&B/Hip-Hop, and Rap charts. After guesting on a handful of tracks in 2018, he returned with 'Put a Date on It' featuring Lil Baby, which landed on his 2019 effort Trapped.
