Bio

With the release of 'Yellow' introducing music fans to their signature melodic, piano-driven anthems, Coldplay ended up getting world-famous and has gone on to become one of the planet's most popular acts, selling more than 75 million copies of their seven Number One albums. Just like 'A Sky Full Of Stars,' this legendary band has filled their trophy cabinet with almost every major music award there is attributable to an endless row of big hits like 'Fix You,' 'Paradise,' and 'Viva La Vida;' including seven Grammys and nine BRITs!

Life & Career

Coldplay quickly gained international fame in 2000 with Parachutes, out of the success of their monster ballad, 'Yellow.' The album went on to achieve multi-platinum status and the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2002. Coldplay's success continued growing into 2002, with their sophomore release of A Rush of Blood to the Head churning many massive hits such as 'In My Place' & 'The Scientist,' to name a few. Rolling Stone readers voted Coldplay the best band of 2003, and they won Grammys in 2003 and 2004. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends was released in 2008 and marked a little bit of a musical change. Their next single, 'Viva La Vida,' went on to be their most successful release to date and their first to top the U.S. In 2019, Global Citizen announced that Coldplay would perform at Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream in 2020. The band announced their eighth studio album would be a double album titled Everyday Life, despite previously hinting that A Head Full of Dreams would be their final studio album. The album was released & was marked by a double concert in Amman, Jordan & was performed at sunrise and sunset, corresponding with the subtitles of the album's two halves.
