Luis Alfonso Rodríguez López-Cepero, popularly known as Luis Fonsi, shot to stardom with his world famous Spanish song 'Despacito,' at one point, it was the most streamed song and the most watched video ever on YouTube. He won four Latin Grammy Awards for the song. His debut album 'Comenzaré' (I Will Begin) was a smashing hit which established his career. He attended Florida State University School of Music on a scholarship.

Life & Career

In 2011, Fonsi released the album Tierra Firme and toured to promote it throughout Latin America. In 2011, Billboard named him the 'leader of the new generation of Latin music' & in 2014, he released his 8th album, a reference to his eighth career album. In 2017, ‘Despacito’ with Daddy Yankee was released & the song received an English remix with Canadian singer Justin Bieber. The remix with Bieber reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending May 27, 2017. In November 2017, he released the song ‘Échame la Culpa’, with Demi Lovato, which was # 3 on the Hot Latin chart. In May 2018, ‘Despacito II’ was released by DespacitoTV as a response to the anticipation about Fonsi and his hit. The song is a remix of the original, with Undertale, Charlie Puth, and Soulja Boy superimposed.
