MGMT is an American rock band that was formed in 2002 in Middletown, Connecticut
MGMT was formed in 2002 during Ben Goldwasser and Andrew Van Wyngarden's freshman year art students at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The band was initially known as the Management. After graduating in 2005, MGMT released an electro-rock EP Time to Pretend, on the tiny indie label Cantora Records and they toured with Of Montreal as the opening act in the same year. MGMT had Congratulations Tour 2010 across US countries and made appearances in tv shows also massive festivals like Coachella. From 2014 until 2015, they decided to had a break in making music together. In 2018, they released their final album "Little Dark Age" as both an expression of surprise and dismay to the current US political and social climate.
