Queen

Queen became one of the world's most popular bands in the mid-'70s. Vocalist Freddie Mercury had brought Queen an ostentatious sense of camp. Despite their tremendous fame, music critics never treated Queen seriously. Traces of Queen's music could be heard in hard rock and metal bands of several generations. Their popularity peaked in the early 1980s in America, just as they finished exceptionally popular records worth for almost a decade. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is the British Quartet's best-known track, which is well recognized for its flamboyant sound.

Queen was formed by Brian May, Roger Taylor, Freddie Mercury and John Deacon in 1971. The group's first album, Queen, was released in 1973, but it didn't receive much acclaim. Queen II became an unexpected British breakthrough early in 1974. Queen were at the height of their popularity as they entered the '80s. The bottom fell out of the group's popularity, particularly in the U.S., shortly afterward. With the help of David Bowie, Queen were able to successfully compete with the new wave. Over the last three years Queen has issued numerous new songs. They appeared with Adam Lambert on the 2009 American Idol finale. In 2013 - 2014, the group went on a full tour, and released a new live album in 2015. Queen was the subject of biopic Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018.
