Azizi Gibson

Gibson was born in Germany, to a military family originally from Zaire. He lived in Singapore and Thailand before moving to Maryland. He dropped out of college in 2010 and promptly moved to Los Angeles. Already obsessed with rap, Gibson came with a low-budget mixtape under his belt, blending his articulate flow with clear influences from Eminem and the Pharcyde.

Gibson met the famous producer Flying Lotus several times after moving to L.A., and finally gave a copy of his mixtape to the more renowned star. Gibson was signed on the Flying Lotus Brainfeeder label, which released his more polished 2013 mixtape, Ghost in the Shell. He followed with the Backwards Books E.P. the following year and released his first full-length Prehistoric Till Death in 2015. The second album A New Life was released in the spring of 2016.
