Bio

Canadian husband & wife Indie Rock band, Arcade Fire came to prominence in 2004 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Funeral’. They play guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, synthesizer, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin and hurdy-gurdy. Their music has been described as indie rock, art rock, dance-rock, and baroque pop!

Life & Career

Win Butler and Josh Deu founded Arcade Fire in Montreal around 2001. They recorded a set of demos and began performing live by the second half of the same year. They issued a self-titled EP in 2003, which helped the band receive an official offer from Merge Records. Arcade Fire’s success followed them on the road as they sold out shows, playing at festivals like Lollapalooza and Coachella. Their second studio album ‘Neon Bible’ was awarded the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best International Album as well as the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. Arcade Fire also continuously works to support Haitian people by raising awareness of the struggles the country faces, as well as its history through their songs.
