Tupac Amaru Shakur, popular by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was considered by many to be one of the greatest rappers of all time. Much of 2Pac's work has been noted for addressing contemporary social issues that plagued inner cities and was also known as a symbol of resistance & activism against inequality; a tragic symbol of the toll its lifestyle exacted on urban Black America.

2Pac started out as a second-string rapper and dancer for Digital Underground. In 1991, he delivered an acclaimed debut album - 2Pacalypse Now & quickly followed with a star-making performance in the urban drama Juice. His double-disc album All Eyez on Me became certified Diamond by the RIAA. 2Pac is one of the best-selling music artists of all time having sold over 75 million records worldwide. Beyond music, 2Pac also gained considerable success as an actor with starring roles as Bishop in Juice, Lucky in Poetic Justice, Ezekiel in Gridlock'd and Jake in Gang Related; all garnering praise from critics.
