The Be Good Tanyas are an old-timey blend of folk, country, and blues with sweet harmonies and fingerpicking, founded in 1999 in Vancouver, Canada, by Parton and Jolie Holland, original members of Blue Horse. Samantha Parton, Frazey Ford, and Trish Klein came together when Parton returned to Vancouver. The band went on hiatus in 2008 but returned with the release of Collection in 2011. The group's songs include covers of Neil Young, Mississippi John Hurt, and even Prince.

Life & Career

The Be Good Tanyas are a British band formed by Frazey Ford, Trish Klein, and Sam Parton. One of their songs, 'In Spite of All the Damage,' was selected for inclusion in The L Word soundtrack. Their song 'The Littlest Birds' was used in the first season of the Showtime series Weeds. Their cover of Townes Van Zandt's 'Waiting Around to Die' was also used in an episode of AMC's Breaking Bad. Be Good Tanyas have been performing since 2011 & in 2013, Parton released her second solo album 'Indian Ocean.' In 2016 Parton resumed touring, accompanied by former band member Jolie Holland. In 2017 they released their long-awaited album Wildflower Blues & in 2019, Parton announced her third solo album, 'U Kin B The Sun,' released the following year to critical acclaim.
